Support

Plinthe shows your Discogs vinyl collection — as a grid you can place in the room, and as a 3D arc you can interact with on Apple Vision Pro.

Getting started

  1. Open Plinthe and tap Connect Discogs.
  2. Sign in on the Discogs page that appears and tap Authorize. You are typing your password into Discogs’ own site — Plinthe never sees it.
  3. Your collection loads automatically. Tap any record for its details, tracklist, pressing information, and credits.
  4. Tap a track to play it.

You need a Discogs account with records in your collection. Discogs is free, and Plinthe reads the collection you have already built there — it is a viewer, not a separate library.

Requirements

  • Apple Vision Pro — visionOS 26.4 or later
  • An Apple Music subscription is optional. Without one, tracks play as public 30-second previews.

Common questions

I tapped a track and heard nothing

Check the device volume. Plinthe claims the playback audio category, so it should sound even when other audio is muted. Note that audio stops when you leave the app — Plinthe does not play in the background by design.

I only get 30-second previews

Full-track playback needs an active Apple Music subscription and permission to use it. If you subscribe and still get previews, check Settings → Privacy & Security → Media & Apple Music and confirm Plinthe is allowed. Previews come from Apple’s public iTunes catalog and are the fallback whenever a full track isn’t available.

My collection won’t load

Tap Retry on the error screen. If it keeps failing:

  • Confirm the device is online and discogs.com loads in a browser.
  • Very large collections are fetched a page at a time and can briefly hit Discogs’ rate limit. Wait a minute and retry.
  • If the token has gone stale, use Disconnect in the account menu and connect again.

A record has no lyrics

Lyrics come from LRCLIB, an open community database. Coverage is good for popular releases and patchy for obscure ones, and only time-synced lyrics can be displayed. A missing set of lyrics means nobody has contributed them yet — it isn’t a fault in the app.

How do I open the immersive view on Apple Vision Pro?

Tap the immersive-space button in the collection window’s toolbar. Your covers lay out in an arc around you: look at a record and pinch to bring it forward, and pinch-and-drag anywhere to scroll along the arc. Tap the same toolbar button to come back out.

Does the visualizer react to the music?

Not yet. The halo and particles behind a selected record are an ambient animation, not a live analysis of the audio. Honest answer rather than a marketing one.

How do I disconnect my Discogs account?

Open the account menu (the person icon) and choose Disconnect. That deletes the stored access token from your device immediately. To revoke Plinthe’s access from the Discogs side as well, use the applications section of your Discogs account settings.

Reporting a bug

Bug reports and feature requests are welcome on GitHub Issues. The most useful reports say which device and OS version you’re on, what you did, and what happened instead.
